Let me tell you, it is super weird to walk around North Carolina and have a local find out that I’m the guy who wrote “It’s Bo Time.” Their eyes widen, their jaws drop, and I swear they hear a heavenly chorus of angels or something.
I certainly don’t consider it one of my best taglines but, for whatever reason, it’s struck a chord with Bojangles’ fans all across the south. Even Danny McBride worked the line into one of his HBO shows.
Anyway, my creative partner and I based it on the insight that the moment you crave Bojangles’ you have to have it immediately, and over ten years later the line is still around.
During the five years I worked on the Bojangles’ brand, we created dozens of spots. These are a few of my favorites.
